Frequently Asked Questions
GENERAL QUESTIONS
Q: What is the World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend (WBDGW)?
A: WBDGW is a global celebration of disc golf—bringing players together in their communities for a weekend of fun playing disc golf. It was designed to introduce new people to the sport while giving seasoned players a reason to gather, throw, and spread their love for disc golf. There are many tournaments that include WBDGW, and there are other non-sanctioned events for everyone. Some teach disc golf to others. Hosts get to choose what type of event they want to have. Hosts can be clubs, schools, cities, neighborhoods, and anyone! They simply need to register with WBDBW to make sure they can win prizes if they qualify. Prizes are given out by the host and WBDGW will give out some prizes for events who bring in the greatest number of players by percentage.
Q: When is the event happening?
A: The 2025 World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend will take place on May 9, 10 & 11 around the world. Events will be hosted across the U.S. and internationally, all on the same weekend!
Q: Who can participate?
A: Everyone! Whether you've never picked up a disc before or you’ve got oodles of experience, WBDGW events are designed to welcome and accommodate all ages and skill levels. If there isn’t one close by, host one. You can create it any way you want and you just have to give us a call and we will help you.
Q: How much does it cost to play?
A: Pricing is set by individual event hosts, but most WBDGW events are low-cost or free to encourage new players. Some events may offer a player's pack or commemorative disc for a small fee. This event is used by clubs to fundraise and they can create it however they want.
FOR FIRST-TIMERS
Q: I’ve never played disc golf before. Can I still come?
A: Absolutely! This event is tailor-made for beginners. Many hosts will offer free clinics, loaner discs, and helpful volunteers to guide you through your first round. Hopefully, there will be one near you. If there isn’t any and you now someone who wants to host it, have them reach out to us.
Q: Do I need to connect with a hosted event to participate?
A: Absolutely NOT! You can demonstrate your disc love just by playing ANYWHERE during the WBDGW, even solo! Make sure you register your name on our website if you are playing. All players must register on our website so we can count how many played this year.
Q: What should I bring if I attend a hosted event?
A: If you have discs, bring them—but if not, don’t worry. Many events provide loaner discs and discs for sale. There may even be a disc for sale at the event which has an event logo. If not, you can buy one from this website. www.wbdgw.com. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water and sunscreen if your event is outdoors.
FOR EVENT HOSTS
Q: I want to host a WBDGW event. How do I get involved?
A: We’d love to have you! Head to our [Host Info page or link] for details on how to register your event, access marketing materials, and order player packs.
Q: Do I have to run a competitive tournament?
A: Nope! WBDGW is about fun, not competition (unless you want it to be). You can run a casual round, a putting challenge, a clinic, or even a disc golf picnic—anything that brings people together and puts discs in hands. Competitive events are welcomed and sanctioned events can be included by having people sign up.
Q: Is there a deadline to register my event?
A: Yes—event registration closes on 5-11-2025 which is the last day you can host one. We recommend signing up early to give your players the best experience. The sooner you create the event, the more you can market it. YOU must create an event page on UDisc. This will help you get even ore players and your club can do more fundraising for itself.
Q: How do I register my event?
Once we see your event page on Udisc, we will license the logo to you for 4 months. But you need to let us know you have an event listed on UDisc. If it's not listed on Udisc, it must be a PDGA sanctioned event. Otherwise, we can't count it.

A: 100%! We encourage local organizations to partner with hosts or sponsor local events. Contact us at WBDGWevents@gmail.com to learn more about how to collaborate.
